iKON’s Jinhwan Interesting Facts
Jinhwan is the main vocal of the group. He also the lead dancer. He was a part of Team B on WIN (Who Is Next). Jay joined YG Entertainment in early 2011. Seven months before he debuted, Jay lived in the Philippines. Jay’s mother is an entrepreneur and a violinist. He can imitate girl groups’ facial expressions. Jay cries easily. He is known to be very flirtatious with fans and the staff. Even though he is the oldest in the group, he looks like the maknae because of his height and cute face. He is very good at languages. Although Jinhwan is a multi-lingual person since he can speak Japanese, Tagalog, Mandarin, and English, he has trouble speaking in public when he feels nervous. He likes sexy things and always wants to be sexy. He has called himself a sexy brother and always introduces himself as the sexy person of iKON. Among the members, he is the one who can cook well, and he is also the one who spends the most money. Do you think it’s a coincidence? According to YG, Jay, who appeared in Taeyang’s “Ringa Linga” MV, is considered the next Taeyang. iKON’s Jinhwan Pre-debut Era
During pre-debut, he was living in the Philippines for seven months for language training, and he was so lonely, and he had a dream of becoming a singer that he returned to Jeju Island and traveled to Seoul alone. Before joining YG Entertainment, Jinhwan was a trainee in SM Entertainment. He has strong pop vocals with a clear tone. His older sister was a huge fan of a male idol, which was one reason he wanted to be an idol since he was young.

Jinhwan’s Debut with iKON
Jinhwan debuted as iKON members on September 15th, 2015. He becomes the main vocalist of the group. iKON consist of 6 members, Bobby, Jay, Ju-ne, Song, DK, and Chan. It was originally 7 members but B.I left the group on June 12th, 2019. The group debuted with a studio album called “Welcome Back”. Jinhwan is the main vocalist since the survival program and has been taken the center part. He has a distinct voice that is ticklish and strong at times, and it can be absorbed in the low to high range. B.I., who produces most of iKON’s songs, said, “He is a vocalist who has a stable balance within the team.” Jinhwan’s vocal abilities are improving with each album release. In 2021, iKON comeback with a digital release called “Why Why Why”. The song has topped Japan’s Rakuten Music Daily Chart at 9 a.m. on the 9th of March 2021. The song is about a love that bloomed beautifully before withering away, just like a flower. iKON’s delicate vocals are remarkable. You might want to check out Jinhwan’s vocal in the video above and get ready to be amazed by his voice!
One of the best eras of iKON was during the “Killing Me” era. The dance is really killing it, just like the title. It has an upbeat tune that’ll make you dance too! Jinhwan during this era was really captivating. His dance was so on point, and members said that he was really sexy during the stage. A fan’s comments, “Most iKon members are skilled dancer, to top it all, there’s no hole in the group.. Jinhwan is really underrated in Korea, now I see why YG keep saying that Jinhwan is the next Taeyang, he literally got the feels, and his dancing is smooth and make it looks like it was easy, and not to mention, his singing skill improved since Return era, I was surprised when he sings with Suhyun at the award for the Last Goodbye, and his voice literally coated with emotions, I can hear the raw emotion from his voice..” Well, couldn’t agree more!
